Restore Archive

Beitrag von teeterbug »

I seem to be missing a ton of archived text messages. I want to restore a previous file, but I don't want to lose what is currently in the computer archive because there are more recent texts. When there is a restore, does it over ride all of the current information?

Thank you for that information, however, it does not quite answer my question. So, I used to have text messages from about 5 years ago. I noticed yesterday, I can only see from 2 years ago in my computer archives.

I have a full back up that has all of them and wanted to know if I use the restore backup, does it add to what is already showing in my profile or does it overwrite it?

My answer was correct, you can import the old archive messages back, so I was sure that nothing would be deleted
But I've tested it now (you could have done it yourself, by the way  ):
The old entries are also retained when the SMS archive is restored!
Nevertheless, please create a backup first!

Thanks. I ended up moving everything back to my phone. I didn't want to test and then find out that my current archived messages were over ridden by what I imported. I cannot create a backup of my computer (archived) items. Someone from FJ Software emails me and we start to figure out why but then we never finish.
