I have been using this for years. Currently have 1.9.0 on phone and pc client.

It was working perfectly Syncing all my CONTATCS .. GOOGLE DUO Contacts.. but after i installed WhatsApp ... Now it REMOVED the DUO and CONTACTS section in the PC app.. and only shows / syncs WhatsApp contacts now....

I had to UNINSTSALL whatsapp.... Delete my Profile in MobilePhoneExplorer.. create a NEW profile.. and REsync... to get the regular phone contacts back into the pc database.

I have been able to REPLICATE the problem... i did the same thing on my wife's phonbe... Android Samsung Galaxy A10 .. same phone as mine... The sync problems happen as soo n as you install WhatsApp... MyPhoneExplorer just stops syncing regular contacts.... and ONLY syncs / shows the Whatsapp cpontacts from that point on.

I followed up on this issue...

This is what is causing the problem:


When you install WhatsApp .... the first time you go to sync your contacts with MyPhoneExplorer... the SETTINGS section of the apk on the phone gets altered.... BEFORE i installed WhatApp the

Contact-accounts to Sync had PHONE, DUO, and a few other accounts checked off to backup and sync.. However.. after WhatsApp was installed.... the NEW WhatsApp contacts option was added and was checked.. but ALL of my existing accounts were UNCHECKED and set to NOT SYNC.

This is what happened on my wifes phone as well... so its a matter of the SETTINGS for what accounts to backup and sync that is being altered without manual intervention.

Is the problem now solved for you?
I.e. you should under Phone => MPE-Client => Settings => contact-accounts to sync enable only the contact accounts that have relevant contacts Wink

Recommendable...
MyLocalAccount
After installation, the account must also be activated: Handy => Settings => Accounts> => Add
... only activat.

I just tested it with several ways but i was not able to reproduce this issue.
- uninstalled WhatsApp and MyPhoneExplorer Client including data on the phone
- installed a fresh copy of MyPhoneExplorer Client from PlayStore
- did a sync, after this i enabled PHONE and DUO contact account
- did a sync again to ensure that the settings were accepted
- now i installed WhatsApp and initialized it with my phone number
- did again a download of contacts - all OK
- checked the settings, they were also OK and WhatsApp was NOT checked

In case you are able to reproduce this issue it would be a really critical bug which should be fixed ASAP.

- which exact steps i have to do to reproduce the issue
- are the regular contact accounts only unchecked or are they missing in the settings?
- could it have to do something with the "DualMessenger" feature of Samsung, are you using this?
