MPE - Cannot create Backups

MPE - Cannot create Backups

Just downloaded the latest version of MPE (April 2021).

Windows 10 - 64bit

MPE cannot create backups. System will start as if ok, but along the way, backup window crashes, and app closes.

I've removed and dowloaded a few times, from 2 differnt laptops, but with same problem.

I had exactly the same issue for a few weeks then it self-resolved. I did track the issue to the SMS (phone) section. All other sections backed up normally.

I cannot definitively say what I did to resolve it, but the only things I did differently to normal were the four following steps.

1) Disconnect phone from laptop.
2) Clear cache in phone (Android – should be somewhere under storage)
3) RESTART phone – (Android, press & hold power button for options).
4) Restart laptop from the command prompt using “Shutdown /R”.

When retesting all I can advise is close all other applications then try a backup.

Mine has been working normally for three days now.
