Is there any way to configure MPE to just sync contacts with the Google cloud and not the phone?
From what I can see MPE can be configured to pull down the contacts from the Google cloud then sync these contacts with phone. The problem is that the Android phone is set up to sync with Google Cloud in real time so the MPE sync will kick of an Android Google sync and the two syncs will run at the same time resulting in duplicate contacts.
I thought I could run a one way sync from the Android phone to MPE but I cannot see that option in the most recent version of the MPE PC client.
I have searched the forum and the net for a solution to this issue but cannot find one.
Any ideas? |

Your information is wrong. That setting just tells the PC MPE client to sync with the google account on the phone. That setting is also available from the sync menu on the MPE PC client.
What I want to do is set up the sync on the MPE PC client so that it syncs with Google contacts on the cloud but does not create any contacts on the phone.
Is there a way of doing this? |

That´s not what the MPE was designed for and I don´t see how this could work. |

Let me describe the problem.
Android Phone.
*************
Uses Google Contacts on phone.
Syncs with Google contacts on cloud.
Syncs in real time. Changes on the phone Google Contacts are replicated in cloud Google Contacts immediately.
MPE Desk Top Client
*****************
MPE desktop client syncs with Google Contacts on phone.
Changes to Google Contacts on phone are then synced with Google contacts on the cloud.
Google contacts on the phone gets confused because it is syncing with the MPE desktop client and with Google contacts on the cloud at the same time. The result is duplicate contacts on MPE or Google Contacts on Android or Google Contacts on the cloud or duplicate contacts on all three.
The same thing happens with Dropbox and Google Drive. For example syncing a single folder called X to Dropbox and Google drive at the same time does not work. |

That´s why it is advised, not to do this. |
