Hello,
when I try to sync my old ericsson W810i with outlook 2013, MPE reports fullnames in outlook only 31 characters long (w810 has 40 chars limit). It therefore offers to sync them...
(I only have two contacts with such long fullname, both have that problem)
Tried with both 1.8.5 and 1.8.6.
Another problem is, that e-mail addresses for some contacts are not taken into acount when syncing. When this happens, the e-mail addresses is not considered in further syncs - when they are already in phone, they stay there but are not shown in MPE. When they are not in phone, MPE does not try to send them to the phone.
I have no idea how to track this issue...
I did not have this problem with outlook 2007... |

MyPhoneExplorer does detect the maximal field length automatically by reading a metadata definition file directly from the phone. Maybe SE did not adapt the 40 Char-Limit to the metadata definition. You could increase the value manually by editing the field "ContactNameLength" in the file settings.dat (you can find this file in the datafolder of MPE)

were there any changes between previoue MPE versions? I don't remember having problem with 32 vs. 40 characters before (1.8.5) ...
I have log files from old sync, in HTML - are there OK?
may I send them privately? |

I see this in the debug.txt. Does this define the name length to 30 chars?

I did already adapt the limit and it works OK - just forgot to mention it.
I was more wondering why I had this issue, when it did not happen before.
back to the lost mail addresses issue:
I have log files from old sync, in HTML - are they enough or do you need the debug log?

Are those emails in the "Global Addresslist" ? Please post the logfile after contactsync (Menu-File-Settings-Show logfile) |
