Hello.
I have problems with multiple calendars.
MPE seems to behave as if, while syncing, it puts all appointments in the default calendar of the PC, despite I have tried the 2 options :
- Sync both
- Force Phone -> Outlook
I believe MPE is THE way to deal with multiple calendars in Android, while default sync solutions (Sony Companion) only take one default calendar in account.
But I'm afraid I maybe can't find the right way to use it as I expect.
Someone to help me ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

In the settings where you choose which calendar to sync you also set which calendar is to be synced with which calender.
You have to assign them otherwise everything will be put together. |

Hi.
Thanks for your answer.
I find hard to understand how applying what you explain.
In fact, I have in Outlook several calendars, and 4 I only want to share.
<a target="_blank" href="http://imageshack.com/f/p9CWtuFjp"><img src="http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/150x100q90/909/CWtuFj.png" border="0"></a>
I can find the assign feature you mention, but how do I have to deal with the 3 options that appear by xxx in the right column (Phone calendar, phdavid@infonie.fr, phdavid@infonie.fr's calendar.)
<a target="_blank" href="http://imageshack.com/f/idtZKEjdp"><img src="http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/150x100q90/661/tZKEjd.png" border="0"></a>
Py purpose is to keep the 4 separate calendars on 2 different PCs, while syncing through the phone.
Will i find the 4 calendars in the phone or only one ?
I'd prefer to wait for some basis explanations before trying some manipulations. The mistake I sure made last week forced me to spend quite huge time to re-place my events one-by-one in the right calendars (in Outlook). |

Yes, I understand but when I click in Assign (Zuordnung) column, I have the 3 choices of my picture, and only one can apply to one row.
What are these 3 (in my example) items ? Do I have to do something to create 4 items I shall then select in "Assign" menu ? And if so, how shall I proceed ? In Android ? In MPE ?
Regards.

I only sync one calendar from Outlook (2010) to Android but the way it works is, use the settings you show to choose which calendar to sync from Outlook. On the phone, go into the MPE settings and choose 'Calendar to sync'. If you only have a single calendar on the phone then use the Manage local calendars' option to add further ones.
All in theory of course as I haven't done it, but it's what I would try. I don't think you can sync more than one calendar at once as you don't seem to be able to choose multiple calendars to sync to on the phone. That would be useful in your case I see but not sure how much pf a programming issue it is.

In MPE Client you have some settings:
"Calendars to sync" -> these calendars will be touched from MPE
"Add new events to..." -> in this calendar new events will be created (f.e. if they com from the interface of MPE or from the Sync with outlook)
The setting "Assign" is basicly a rule mapping. It does affect only in which calendar a new event is created if it does come from Calendar XX.
If your appointments on the phone should be kept local and you still want to have them splitted in seperate calendars then i would suggest you create 4 new local calendars in the phone (MPE Client->Settings->Manage local calendars) and then limit the sync to those calendars and adapt the "Assign" fields in the settings. |

Hi.
It took me a few days to make tests.
At first, the sync worked fine from 1st PC toward Phone, after having created 4 calendars in the phone.
But in my firts tests, when syncing from phone towards PC (with blank and empty calendars),forcing from phone towards PC, all events were created in the main calendar.
I tried a second time this evening, and this time it worked as I expected, the events are in the right calendar.
(The only slight problem is that in phone Agenda apps, the 4 calendars all have the same name, and only the order helps to choose the right one. In MPE client and PC version, the name appears).
Thanks for your help. Your solution is the right one !
Regards.

Thanks for the continued development of an awesome syncing app.
This multi calendar function does not seem to work as I would hope.
What I would like to do is to create a mapping between android calendars and outlook calendars so they reflect each other. E.g.
"Calendar 01 Outlook" <-> "Calendar 01 Android".
"Calendar 02 Outlook" <-> "Calendar 02 Android".
The problem arises when I have existing multiple calendars in Outlook and only one calendar in Android. I then attempt to create new calendars in Android and map them to those in Outlook ...
I go through these steps to attempt a multi calendar mapping:
* MPE > File > Settings > Sync > Events and Task > Sync with Outlook 2013.
* MPE > File > Settings > Sync > Events and Task > Calendars to Sync >
** Sync appointments from these calendars: "Calendar 01 Android"; "Calendar 02 Android" (only)
** Add new events to: "Calendar 01 Android"
* MPE > File > Settings > Sync > Events and Task > Advanced ...
** Folders to Sync: allocate Calendars
*** I map like this ....[/list]
*** "Calendar 01 Outlook" <-> "Calendar 01 Android".
*** "Calendar 02 Outlook" <-> "Calendar 02 Android".
** Sync mode: Force Outlook -> Phone.
I sync. The result is taht all events from "Calendar 01 Outlook" and "Calendar 02 Outlook" are mapped to "Calendar 01 Android". There is nothing in "Calendar 02 Android".
That is not unexpected given that "Add new events to:" implies that new events will go to a particular calendar.
However, I request that this functionality be changed to "Add unmapped new events to:" and that new events from a calender that is mapped to another calendar: honours the mapping. |

This would seem the best way forward for multiple calendars to me as well. It could be, though, that there's a justified technical reason why this has not been implemented but it would be very convenient done this way. |

Yes. Or some conceptual reason that FJ has seen. A reason that the current program addresses. |
