After factory reset of the phone, MPE treats it as a totally new phone. It creates a "new user", so that 2 different "users" appear in the menu File -> User.

As the problem with the user account persisted, I found a solution by deleting all accounts and creating a new one which I loaded with contents from the backup. Until now this works fine.
