Saving SMS files from phone to computer ==>> ??

There is an opton called "Archive (computer)" -- does this mean they are saved as .txt files somewhere?

I'm not sure, it seems they are saved together in a .dat file? I have to go to Application data and open this .dat file. With what program? In ...

I did my first sync and can no longer access files onmy memory card while using my phone!

I took my memory card out of my phone and put it in my computer, and yes, the files are there!

What is up??
