Thanks for the input - the problem was that the Family calendar didn't appear in the list of available calendars in MPE.

That said, I took another look today and it does now appear in the list and syncing works as expected. For some reason, MPE took a while to recognise the new calendar.

Just wanted to add that I thought I'd be able to work around this if it is a limitation, but as my wife has been adding joint events to the Family calendar, they are (of course) not synced to MPE, which means that I can't depend on the calendar view in it. My apologies if I could have found this information elsewhere on the site but I did search and didn't find anything that looked promising.

I have checked the FAQ and don't see anything relevant in there. I'd appreciate at least a comment about this problem, even if there's no solution or it's pointed out as a stupid user error.

I've found recently (since a few weeks ago) that recurring events are not being transferred to my phone. I see someone else has reported a similar problem a few months ago, but there was no response.
