I would be happy to use MPE; it seems to provide everything I need it to do.
My only problem is in updating the Sony software. Build updates and OS changes seem only to be able using PCC or USU.
Does anyone know of a way to update without using Sony software?

Here is the log from my existing 1.8.3 install. I tried to "break" it by plugging the phone in when it was turned off. I then switched the phone on whilst it was still connected, but no problems. Is there a major reason why I need to get off 1.8.3 in favour of 1.8.4?

My research tells me that adb.exe is part of the Android development kit. It stands for Android Debug Bridge. I guess it's loaded/activated when the phone is plugged into the PC due to USB debugging enabled?

I installed 1.8.4, and just couldn't get my Xperia S to connect. I removed it, and reinstalled 1.8.3, and everythings normal again!! My Client version is 1.0.21

I've just removed version 1.8.4, and replaced it with 1.8.3, and it works straight away!!
Until we get some answers, I suggest that if you're having problems with 1.8.4, do as I did.
