Installed beta over current build.
Connected phone via USB, started client
Started beta, checked connection by looking ...

Is the ADB Driver installed?
I believe the phone can still be used as an external storage device (think disk or flash drive) even without the ADB Driver but Win7 will not recognize the device as a cell phone. Check to see if you have yellow icon next to your phone, when connected to the pc, in the Win7 Device Manager. If so ...
